Bassein Catholic Co-op. Bank Ltd is nearly a century old bank in India. It was organized as Credit Co-operative Society by Rev. Msgr.P.J.Monis in order to serve people of Vasai. It was established on 6th February 1918. With the assistance of special social activist in Vasai, it came into being. Vasai had large Christian population. It has a good history of its operations. In the year, March, 1986, the Credit Society was converted into an Urban Co-operative Bank. On 1st December 1990, it was granted the prominent status of a Schedule Bank by the Reserve Bank of India.

Ever since, it has grown manifold. It is registering deposit growth from 65.58 crore in 1990 to 2192.58 crore in 2011 and has also registered advances growth of `39.58 crore to `1383.45 crore during the same period. The Bank received a profit of 53.22 crores. It has been victorious in reducing gross NPA to 2.46% with net NPA 0%.
Bassein Catholic Co-op Bank is lucky to register net growth of `345.54 crore the Bank has maintained industry best CRAR of 18.79% as on 31.03.2011. The bank is looking to have higher targets of business of more than 5000 crores in couple of years. Currently it has 85000 active members.

It has several awards like Best Urban Co-op.Bank for the year 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2007-08 by The Maharashtra State Co-operative Bank’s Association Ltd., Mumbai. It was also chosen as best Urban Co-op.Bank for the year 2007-08 having deposits above 500.00 crore by The Maharashtra Urban Banks Federation Ltd., Mumbai. Apart from this, it has been given, ‘The Best Performing Co-op.Bank’ Award 2008-09. 2nd position from All India, 1st position from Maharashtra State and 4th highest deposits holding Co-op. Bank in India by INDIAN ACHIEVERS FORUM, New Delhi. Besides this, it has Banking Frontiers Year 2011 Award for Excellence in Recovery & NPA Management in large Urban Co-Operative Banks Category. At present, the Bank has 28 branches with 22 ATMs. It has shortly opening another 5 branches.

It is also credited to be first co-operative Bank in Vasai region who offers RTGS/NEFT services to its customers. The Bank also offers document franking services, SMS alert and multicity cheques facilities to its customers. Credibility about the bank is RuPay ATM Card the Bank has established access to more than 80000 ATMs of other banks all over India.

This Bank is known for its best customer service, faith and self-assurance of both its shareholders as well as customers.     I withdraw 5000 rs at naigaon west branch.one 2000 note is not good condition.bank is open,one person told me u go and submitted the note and take new note.i show the note to bank employee but no one reply,then I told everybody what I do,but no one help me.long time I stay there then maneger call me,there is one more person told me this is the no way to talk.i asked him who are you.you are the maneger or bank employee,but he told me I m here only for chamcha giri.manger told me casher is not there.atleast bank maneger assured that come in monday and change the note.i have full video.i submitted the video on social side.if not any reply. This is not right way to talk costumer.and one questions more without casher why bank open.if open for internal work so half down the Sutter.is open so I go there.
